Like many people attracted to the industry I became an acupuncturist after experiencing amazing results with Chinese Medicine during my own health journey.

Since then my career has taken me into many different areas including most recently as head of Faculty teaching at the New Zealand College of Massage in Christchurch.

As a a teacher I am well educated in a science based approach. Although research has made huge leaps to help our understanding of the human body, it still does not have all the answers to understand health & illness.

My treatment style reflects this by balancing an evidence based  science model of practice while encompassing the holistic nature that is Traditional Chinese Medicine.

Teaching Background:

Teaching has been a big part of my work history and I have continued to maintain teaching roles along side my practice.

Over the last 10 years I have taught to degree level in Christchurch based colleges such as:

Christchurch College of Holistic Healing

New Zealand College of Chinese Medicine

Canterbury College of Natural Medicine

New Zealand College of Massage

I am now teaching part time at Ara for the School of Osteopathy in combination with being in practice.

Subjects taught include:

Anatomy & Physiology

Health Psychology

Research Methodology

Muscular Skeletal Acupuncture Treatment

Business Development

From this experience I have noticed that christchurch practitioners often lack access to local & affordable, Professional Development workshops.

In this post COVID-19 world we are not likely to see international presenters for some time.  With this in mind I am keen to develope not only my own courses but also offer mentoring and coaching to others to support the great local talent we have in christchurch.

See my courses page for details, or email me your ideas for courses and locations to you would like me to visit.
